Bran Muffin Recipe
This bran muffin recipe is the BEST on-the-go breakfast option that satisfies your appetite while helping to slim your waistline! How does it do that, you may ask? This easy to follow bran muffin recipe packs a punch of flavor along with a high dose of fiber!
Fiber helps to regulate the body’s sugar use. It controls your appetite and keeps you fuller longer while also keeping your blood sugar in check. Fiber can also help to speed up your metabolism. In my article, 10 Best Tips and Tricks to Speed Up Your Metabolism, you will find that fiber speeds up your metabolism due to the Thermal Effect. It takes longer for you body to process foods high in fiber. Therefore, your body must work harder (create more energy from calories) to digest the fiber.

As a mom of two toddlers, I have a hard time finding a moment to sit and have an actual meal! As soon as I sit, it never fails, that someone needs me for something! Because of that, and because we are constantly on the go, I started having muffins for breakfast almost everyday! However, I can’t just eat the yummy, sugar-filled muffins (Although I have a serious addiction to my Pumpkin Crumb Cake Muffins!). My health is highly important to me! That is why I start almost everyday with a fiber-filled bran muffin!
I know what you’re thinking. How can I eat the same thing everyday? The answer is easy. I mix it up! Some days I eat the muffin plain. But some days I top it with butter, different flavored jams or jellies, or even a fruit compote! I also mix up the mix-ins! Sometimes instead of raisins in the recipe I add Crazins, a dried fruit mix, or fresh fruits like blueberries! These switch ups keep it interesting and keep me on track!
Side note: I do the same thing with my workouts! Doing the same thing every time you go to the gym or workout at home gets boring! Talk about a lack of motivation! Plus, it’s not conducive for getting the results that you are looking for from your workouts either! So, if you haven’t already, I encourage you to check out my post, Customizable 30 Minute Total Body Workout so that you too can mix it up in the gym!

I’ve been wanting to make muffins for us but wanted to get away from our typical blueberry or chocolate chip. I think these are perfect and I’ll add some nuts!
