Bunny Footprint Template | Easter Fun for Kids
Having Easter bunny footprints throughout the house is a tradition from my childhood. Now that I have children I want to share with them the joy and excitement of finding Easter bunny footprints in the house on Easter morning! So to make it easier on myself, I made an Easter bunny footprints template to make the tracks with and I want to share it with you!
If you haven’t heard of having Easter bunny footprints in your house before now, here is how they started in our family:
We would go to my grandmother’s house every year for Easter when I was growing up. Easter morning was always so exciting because when we would open our bedroom door there would be Easter bunny footprints all throughout the house! It was so fun to follow them to my other cousins’ bedrooms, down the stairs, and to the front door. It really make Easter an even more magical holiday for us as kids!

I remember, as the weird kid that I was, tasting these footprints too. They tasted oddly sour…
Most people that participate in this tradition use flour to create the footprints on their floors. However, my Irish-Catholic grandmother with her immaculate house that religiously vacuumed every morning at 5am, would never use flour. Flour is too difficult to clean up. So instead she used baking soda! That way it would be like an added carpet cleaner when she went to vacuum them up! Brilliant!
How to Make Easter Bunny Tracks?
Last year was the first year that I made my own Easter bunny footprints for my daughter. She was only one-year-old last Easter so she didn’t really understand the concept of the holiday yet. However, it did give me the chance to practice my footprint making skills.
I made my bunny footprints by hand last year and it took FOREVER!
They still turned out okay but you could see my fingerprints in them as I tried to form the correct shapes. These are my footprints from last year:

So for this year I made an Easter bunny footprints template!
With this bunny footprints template, all I have to do is cut out the three toes and heart-shaped footpad on each bunny footprint. After that will just place it on the ground, sprinkle baking soda over the cut out portions and remove the paper! Walla! Easter bunny footprints made easy!

The template will come in handy. I might do this as my son would love to think he’s been visited by the Easter bunny! He’s still little so loves this sort of thing.

This is a great way to have fun during the holiday. My kids are older but my nieces and nephews will love those footprints all over the house.
