Chicken Kabob Marinade Without Honey
This simple chicken kabob marinade without honey results in the most tender and flavorful kabobs! You can also make them with honey but if you have young kids, allergies or just don’t have honey on hand, then this is the chicken kabob marinade for you! A little bit of heat and a little bit of sweet makes these kabobs irresistible!
I made kabobs recently for my book club and they were so raved over that I just HAD to share my recipe!
One of the ladies in our book club is gluten free and so chicken and veggie kabobs over brown rice was a perfect meal that she could not only eat but also tasted great and filled her up! So if you are searching for gluten free dinner ideas, this is a GREAT one to hold onto!
I like to skewer my kabobs with a mix of chicken, white onion, green, yellow and red bell peppers. However, you can mix it up and try whatever you want on your kabobs! With this marinade, I would suggest maybe:
- pineapple
- mushroom
- zucchini
- yellow squash
What combo will you come up with?
Every time I make these I also get asked if this marinade works with beef as well. The answer to that is yes! However, if you are using steak instead of chicken I would increase the amount of “heat” in this marinade so that you get the same flavor. To do this, double the amount of red pepper flakes you use.
Also, when I make this marinade I am typically cooking either for the week or for a lot of people. So I triple the marinade recipe and use the 3lb, family pack of skinless chicken breast. If cooking for the week, store leftovers on skewer in a sealed Tupperware for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, warm on 350F until heated through.
Now let’s get into the nitty gritty! How do you make these suckers?!
