Hot Mulled Cider Citrus Punch
Nothing tastes like fall like a warm mug of hot mulled cider. Every time I have a sip of apple cider I am instantly transported back to my childhood. My mom would take us to the apple orchard every fall to go apple picking. You simply can’t complete a day of apple picking without indulging in some of the fibrous fruits’ delicacies! We always ended the day with a glass of apple cider. Depending on the weather that day made the decision for us as to whether that cider was hot or cold! That’s what is so great about this modern take of a hot mulled cider recipe! Adding the bright notes of citrus to the warm spices makes this the perfect cider to serve either hot or cold!
I live in Cincinnati, OH and the weather here can be so finicky! In fact, most native Cincinnatians will tell you, “If you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes.” It is so true too! It is constantly changing unexpectedly. I feel for the meteorologists! Any who, that is what make this the perfect apple cider recipe! It can be served as a hot mulled cider or a refreshing, chilled cider!
Pouring this hot cider over ice brings out the tang of the lemonade and makes this cider the perfect transition beverage from summer to fall. On the other hand, enjoying it hot is everything fall is supposed to be- warm and comforting! When sipped warm, the lemon and spices resemble a Hot Toddy with it’s calming, soothing effect.

- Once dissolved, place tea ball in pot.
- Cover and reduce heat to low.
- Simmer/steep for 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Remove spices and serve hot (or pour over ice and serve cold)!

Such a perfect recipe for fall! Sounds delicious! The weather in the PNW is unpredictable this time of year too. You can’t leave the house without sunglasses, a rain jacket, layers of clothing, and an umbrella. You never know what you are going to need, and the weather can change in an instant!
