Quick and Easy Irish Soda Bread Muffins
These quick and easy Irish soda bread muffins are one of my favorite additions to any meal! Also, they have recently become one of my go-to breakfast choices. As a mom, I am always trying to find quick and easy to make breakfasts that I can take with me anywhere! That is why I started making my Irish soda bread muffins! They are so easy to make that even my toddler knows the steps to baking them!
Irish soda bread has been around since around the 1830s.
During this time, in Ireland, there was a financial strife and ingredients to cook with were hard to come by. So as an alternative to yeast, the Irish started making bread with baking soda. Hence, the creation of Irish soda bread.
Irish soda bread can be served warm or at room temperature. I usually make them ahead of time and then simply store them in the pantry and grab one every morning with a pad of butter or a swipe of marmalade! Yum! But you can top it with just about anything you want! These are some of my favorites:
**Another fun idea is to make French toast with soda bread! The sweet bursts of warm raisins drenched in syrup is irresistible!

This looks delicious! And I think I have everything on hand apart from the caraway seeds, where would I purchase them? I might just Amazon them 😀
Bri
Amazon has them (there is a link for them from Amazon on the post) and that’s where I buy them from! Your local large chain grocery store should also have them in the baking aisle with the spices 🙂
Ben

I get into baking every so often. I like to use what I have on hand can i use almond milk instead of buttermilk and caraway seeds are harder to find, but i will try.
Bri
You should be able to find caraway seeds at your local, large chain grocery store in the spice/baking aisle. Or you can buy them from Amazon (link on the post). You CAN use almond milk instead of buttermilk but you will want to add a squeeze of lemon or a splash of vinegar to it. That will help to replicate the tanginess of the buttermilk 🙂

These are perfect for St. Patrick’s Day!
